- E.R.G 2.0 GRANT- NEW!!! January 13-26, 2021
The City of New London’s Office of Community and Economic Development will accept applications from its small businesses for the SERG 2.0 Program from January 13-26, 2021. Grants will help provide short term assistance to small businesses for utility bills in amounts ranging from $500- $1500.
Applications will be available in both English & Spanish on the city website and online.

- SUBSIDIO DE S.E.R.G 2.0
La Oficina de Desarrollo Comunitario y Económico de la Ciudad de New London esta aceptando solicitudes de pequeños negocios para el Programa de SERG 2.0. Cares Act: Small Business Administration Programs (SBA)
- Payroll Protection Program: NOW OPEN

Key Payroll Protection Program updates from the Small Business Administration (SBA) & U.S Department of the Treasury include:
- PPP borrowers can set their PPP loan’s covered period to be any length between 8 and 24 weeks to meet their business needs best;
- PPP loans will cover additional expenses, including operations expenditures, property damage costs, supplier costs, and worker protection expenditures;
- The Program’s eligibility is expanded to include 501(c)(6)s, housing cooperatives, direct marketing organizations, among other types of organizations;
- The PPP provides greater flexibility for seasonal employees;
- Certain existing PPP borrowers can request to modify their First Draw PPP Loan amount; and
- Certain existing PPP borrowers are now eligible to apply for a Second Draw PPP Loan.
- A borrower is generally eligible for a Second Draw PPP Loan if the borrower:
- Previously received a First Draw PPP Loan and will or has used the full amount only for authorized uses.
- Has no more than 300 employees; and
- Can demonstrate at least a 25% reduction in gross receipts between comparable quarters in 2019 and 2020.
- A borrower is generally eligible for a Second Draw PPP Loan if the borrower:

The Shuttered Venue Operators (SVO) Grant program
Established by The Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Non-Profits, and Venues Act, signed into law on December 27, 2020. The program includes $15 billion in grants to shuttered venues, to be administered by the Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance.
- Eligible entities include:
- Live venue operators or promoters
- Theatrical producers
- Live performing arts organization operators
- Relevant museum operators, zoos and aquariums who meet specific criteria.
- Motion picture theater operators
- Talent representatives, and
- Each business entity owned by an eligible entity that also meets the eligibility requirements.
- Other requirements:
- Must have been in operation as of Feb. 29, 2020.
- Venue or promoter must not have received a PPP loan on or after Dec. 27, 2020.
